9th graders are required to read two books to complete their summer reading requirements.
All summer reading assignments are due August 20, the first day of school.
9th grade students will read Hamilton: An Exploration of History, Art, and Democracy and complete TWO assignments as they read. Please follow the instructions below. Be sure to view the grading rubric before completing.
1. English Class Assignment:
Click on this English assignment link. It will take you to a page that says "Copy Document."
Click "Make a copy." The document named "Copy of 2024 Hamilton 9th Summer Reading" will open.
Change the document name to include your name. (Example: Sarah Blan 2024 Hamilton 9th Summer Reading)
2. Hamilton Response Journal:

Hamilton: An Exploration of History, Art, and Democracy was created for the 2024 Universal Book. It is a compilation of lyrics from Hamilton: The Musical, primary source documents, and videos.
Current and returning students will obtain their copy of Hamilton from Mrs. Blan. New students will receive their copy from Mrs. Wakeland in the Upper School office.
