Getting started with Sora

Step 1

Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to soraapp.com.

Step 2

In Sora, find Fort Worth Country Day, then log in with Google Single Sign-in.

Note: You may also add Fort Worth Public Library by going to the menu in the top right corner. Click Add Library and search Fort Worth Public Library.

Step 3

Browse the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step 4

Close the book and go to Shelf to see all your books (including assignments). From there, you can:

  • Select Open book or Open audiobook to read or listen to the book.

  • Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

Library Website

You can always access the library's website through the FWCD website "Academics" page. Everything on the library's website is available anytime, anywhere, including:

Databases and Login Information

All library databases are available off campus except:

  • The New York Times

  • Wall Street Journal

Login Information:

To access databases off campus, students and faculty will need the login information available on the portal Resources Board.  Click on the link that says Library Resource Login Information.

Sharing Links

Sharing Links:

  • Google Classroom: The following databases can share resources directly with Google Classroom. Look for a Share, Save, Send to, or Google Classroom button:

    • All Ebsco databases

    • All Gale databases

    • ABC-Clio

  • Permalinks: When you copy and paste a link to share with students, make sure you are getting a permalink instead of copying the link from your browser's URL bar

    • Gale databases: click "Get Link" and copy that link

    • Ebsco databases: click "Permalink" and copy that link

    • Others: Click "Cite" and copy the link in the citation
